My name is Maria and I am a London-based German Mama of two little girls(3yrs & 1year). I have created Little Peach as a community in which Mamas can get together to motivate, educate, and support each other throughout their breastfeeding and pumping journeys.
Firstly, a bit about myself, I have a BSc (hons) in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. During my studies, I spent 6 months at an university hospital in China (Harbin).
Once I finished studying, I became an Antenatal Teacher, Birth Educator, Doula, and Certified Breastfeeding specialist.
My entire career revolves around bumps and babies and boobs, and I am very grateful to be a part of such an exciting time for mamas everywhere.
I had two very different breastfeeding experiences with my daughters that shaped my thinking. These two experiences were the main inspiration behind starting Little Peach.
My first breastfeeding journey was extremely difficult and I ended up exclusively pumping for 1 year. With my second daughter, I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding for 12 months, and still going strong. I am grateful for the opportunity to experience what a smooth breastfeeding journey can be like.
The work with mamas and mamas-to-be is my true passion. I strive to provide evidence based, real life support that works for each individual. I will not force ideas onto you that won't work in the long run; I want to work with you to improve whatever isn’t working for you, as well as support you through difficulties. My goal is to find personalised solutions that will motivate and empower you throughout your breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding is hard, and when problems occur it feels personal and heart wrenching. The complexity of this relationship shouldn’t be underrated.
I am a firm believer that every Mama can benefit from support, advice and motivation along this journey. Being able to ask a question or share your worries will help you become more confident, and will help you enjoy your breastfeeding journey.
I also believe that breastfeeding support should be accessible to anyone at anytime. This is why I am so passionate to offer my online sessions for free (donations are welcome to keep this service going, but are not necessary) It can make all the difference to just pick up your phone to talk to someone, to get some tips and continue with your day. I want to help you understand more about the ins and outs of breastfeeding so you understand what you are doing, and why things are happening.. So even if you are at a crossroad in your journey or you are having a rough day, get in touch and we can talk about it. It is the little things that can turn into great things when help and support is available.
My instagram philosophy has been very simple. "The little peach of the day" is aimed at breastfeeding and pumping mamas to receive daily motivation, advice, and simple tricks to better their breastfeeding experience. Instagram has grown into a very supportive network of many mums from different backgrounds that share their tips and stories to help each other. So do come along and join this very supportive community.
So Mama, I hope to hear from you soon with questions, queries or just to say Hi.
